Vaccination Jitters: Government considering alternative vaccines due to expected delays from India

The surge in Covid-19 numbers has had a ripple effect in which Kenya will be affected. The domestic demand for vaccines in India will delay shipments of the second doses of the oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine from the serum institute of India, its main manufacturer. Due to this, the government is looking at alternative vaccines from Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson to inject some hope in the vaccination exercise in which more than 750,000 Kenyans have received their first dose so far.
