Kenya railways partners with Nzoia for the purposes of transportation of sugar from Bungoma-Nairobi

Kenya Railways has partnered with Nzoia sugar company for the purposes of transportation of sugar and other related products from Nzoia sugar headquarters Bungoma to Nairobi and back. Kenya railways managing director Phillip Mainga said that signing the rail haulage contract for Nzoia’s sugar was a great milestone for the corporation, signalling a good come back for rail operations within the western region. this partnership comes at the back of heavy investment by the government in the rail sector countrywide in the last few years. in the partnership, KR pledges to transport 1600 tonnes of sugar monthly.
