On December 31, 2018, the Teacher's Service Commission moved to court in an attempt to halt a looming teachers’ strike called by the Kenya national union of teachers. Tsc and knut were locked in a tussle over modalities of promotion of teachers. It turns out that this meeting in court marked the beginning of an apparent fall of one of the giant teachers union that had once been a force to reckon with in east and central Africa. Mark Namaswa looks at where the rain started beating the teachers union.
