The Higher Education Loans Board has expressed concerns over the Building Bridges Initiative report, which proposes amendments to the HELB act, varying the grace period for loan repayment from one year to four years. HELB chief executive officer, Charles Ringera, informed the departmental committee on education that implementing that proposal in its current state, will affect over 40 thousand higher education learners being funded by the board.
