The united nations habitat in partnership with the Chandaria foundation have launched a sanitation drive targeting schools within informal settlements in Nairobi. Through the programme, schools in slum areas will receive handwashing stations meant to curb the spread of covid?19, even as schools are set to fully reopen in january. Speaking at the al razaq mosque grounds in kibra, the programme’s coordinator Linus Sijenyi said the project was critical in boosting efforts to combat covid?19 in slum areas that lack running water.
