The Media Council of Kenya has called on the government to guard the rights and freedoms of journalists as they execute their daily mandate of informing the public. Speaking during the commemoration of the international day to end impunity against journalists, the Council Chairperson Maina Muiruri, urged the government to support the fourth estate, as it remains crucial, in the fight against covid?19. The event saw several stakeholders make presentations on the role of the media amidst the pandemic.
