Five out of the 7 former Bungoma county officials who had been convicted over the fraudulent purchase of non-carcinogenic wheelbarrows at an inflated price of almost one hundred and ten thousand shillings each in 2015 have been acquitted by Kakamega high court. they were acquited on grounds that EACC was not properly constituted at the time it completed the investigations and forwarded its report and recommendations to the director of public prosecutions.
