As the county of Bomet prepares to swear in its third deputy governor on wednesday, the governor Dr. Hillary Barchok has for the first time come out to defend his choice for a deputy. Barchok picked the speaker of the county assembly Shadrack Rotich despite political bigwigs vouching for a woman to take up the position.
