Impact of Climate Change on Kenya’s Big 4 Agenda

Approximately 89% of Kenya’s land area is ASALs which are home to more than 60% of the total livestock in Kenya. However, due to climate change, cattle numbers in Kenya have been declining steadily, ultimately jeopardizing the country’s food and nutrition security. Brenda Kerubo gives details of how Kenya can optimize opportunities presented by ASALs in realizing Food security and employment creation through manufacturing. This is based on a recent report launched by the Kenya Markets Trust.
