The National Assembly's Public Investments Committee has directed the chairman of the board of directors of the Kenya airports authority Isaac Awuondo to appear before it Thursday to explain a possible conflict of interest in the Kenya Airways bid to take over operations at the Jomo Kenyatta international airport. Nandi hills lawmaker Alfred Keter told the committee that Awuondo is also the managing director of the commercial bank of Africa that recently merged with NIC Bank that are owed 5 billion shillings by Kenya Airways. KAA chief executive officer Jonny Andersen told parliament the national carrier has been making loses and owes Kenya airports authority 3.8 billion shillings.
