Tonight, the senate committee on devolution has summoned Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia to appear before it next week to shed light on the latest wrangles pitting members of the county assembly and their speaker. The County assemblies’ forum that brings together speakers from the 47 counties has expressed concern that some governors and the county executives are fueling impeachment of speakers to avoid accountability on the use of public funds. The senate is crafting legislation that will protect speakers and governors from the wrath of MCAS.
