Today marks the United Nations recognised Day of Celebration for Elderly Persons. The day was established on the first of October, 1990, and today marks the 27th year, promoting full and equal fundamental rights to older persons. The ministry of labour and social protection held an event to evaluate the success of the government’s cash transfer program for senior citizens over the age of 70.
