Nine suspects in the Patel dam tragedy which claimed the lives of 48 people have been released on a 5 million shilling bond and a surety of a similar amount. Naivasha principal magistrate Joseph Karanja who gave the suspects an  alternative of a 2.5 million shilling cash bail ordered the suspects including the Patel dam owner to hand over their travel documents to the court and report to the office of DCIO in Nakuru every fortnight.
