Grief has engulfed Runda estate in Thika after a man allegedly stabbed his two children, a 7-year old son and a 3 year-old daughter before attempting to kill himself. James Kioho Wanjiku is said to have fallen out with his wife for a while before he left for Christmas on December 23. He returned to Thika on December 26 with his two children leaving his wife upcountry. That is when he descended on his children and killed them. He is said to have taken poison and stabbed himself. He is recuperating at the Thika level 5 hospital and police say he will be arraigned in court upon recovery.
