Monday Night News: Philomena Mwilu beats 11 candidates as DCJ nominee, 10/10/2016

Court of appeal judge Philomena Mwilu will be Kenya’s deputy chief justice if parliament approves her nomination by the Judicial Service Commission. Justice Mwilu beat 11 other candidates interviewed for the position which fell vacant following the retirement of Justice Kalpana Rawal. JSC’s announcement of the nomination came as parliament prepares to consider Justice David Maraga’s nomination for the position of chief justice.
