Two members of the Kisii county assembly appeared in court to answer to charges of children violation. Joash Orora and Cosmas Saka of Masimba and Nyakoe wards had spent a night at Kisii police station cells. Kisii town residents started flowing into the court compound as early as 6am with police officers beefing up security around the court. The MCAs were charged with infringement of the children’s rights to protection from sexual exploitation. The two are accused that on 2nd day of October, 2016 at around 11.00 pm at hotel storm in Kisii town they jointly and knowingly booked two schoolgirls, into a lodging thus exposing them to sexual exploitation.
