Public smoking during daytime could soon be banned should an amendment bill to the tobacco control act be passed by parliament. The bill further proposes that manufacturers should build, equip and maintain rehabilitation and cancer centers in areas where tobacco and tobacco products are grown. the bill has been viewed by many as draconian and one that criminalises smoking. So what exactly is it meant to achieve?
