Kisii senator Chris Obure led six out of the nine members of parliament from Kisii to a political rally in Nyaribari Chache in what has been declared as Gusii unity declaration ahead of the 2017 elections. The leaders said that it has taken decades for Gusii region to have a community leader who can unite the people for a common goal without causing divisions along clan or political lines.
