IEBC have perpetuated an illegality by creating two counties that don’t meet the required threshold.

The embattled Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC could be in for yet another round of controversy. It now emerges that the commission could have perpetuated an illegality by creating two counties that don’t meet the required threshold. According to the gazetted County Governments Act, the minimum number of wards per county should be fifteen, but as it stands, Lamu and Isiolo have only 10 wards each. So how did this happen?
