Over 80m has been set aside by government of Germany to facilitate Taita Taveta University on a learning program for the mining stakeholders in Kenya of best methods in mining and market sources.Majority of the miners in kenya have no knowledge on minerals, how to mine them, market which has them left many of them living in poverty despite having a lot of the resources. Taita Taveta University’s partnership is geared towards empowering all levels of miners from small scale miners to giant miners on best methods of mining. The program will enable the individuals and groups in the mining industry in Kenya to express their experience in the mining sector, challenges and expectations where they will be impacted with knowledge.
