Kenyan MPs fail to vote on the critical gender bill
27th April, 2016
An attempt by Kenya’s national assembly to pass a critical bill that would have allowed an increase in the number of special seats in parliament suffered a near fatal blow when members failed to garner the two-third majority.. The bill tabled in the house by leader of majority Aden Duale and seeks to ensure that the membership of the national assembly and the senate conforms to the two-thirds gender principle as is demanded by the supreme law.
