Governor Mwangi wa Iria was arrested earlier today in what authorities term ‘obstruction of ethics and anti-corruption sleuths during a raid at his home in January. The Muranga governor was arrested in Nairobi before being whisked to integrity center. EACC say Wa Iria will face charges tomorrow. The governor said raid by EACC at his residence in Gatanga turned chaotic when a group of MCAs and residents attempted to block the detectives. The Governor disputes that he knowingly blocked investigations, saying he was ambushed.
