Politics Roundup: Bomet governor Isaac Ruto launches campaign to popularize his new Mashinani Party

The Amani national congress – ANC - has asked the leadership of the ruling Jubilee alliance and the opposition CORD to stop spreading dirty propaganda about the party. ANC’s secretary general Godfrey Osotsi says its party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, will contest for the presidency in the 2017 general elections and asked jubilee and cord to brace for a tough battle ahead. At the same time, the political rivalry between deputy president William Ruto and Bomet governor Isaac Ruto moved a notch higher after the later launched a campaign to popularize Mashinani Development Party Of kenya – MDPK. MDPK is expected to field a candidate in the Kericho senatorial by election in the March 7th mini poll.
