Rwandans living abroad participated in a referendum ballot that might see President Paul Kagame seek an extension of his presidential tenure. This precedes a national vote that will take place Friday in Rwanda. The referendum vote has however come under sharp criticism from the European Union that said the referendum undermines the principles of democracy.
