Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga will not appear before EACC over Eurobond
10th December, 2015
Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga will not appear before the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission tomorrow to share information on the controversial Eurobond funds. Through his lawyers, Raila says the proposed meeting is “presently superflous” since the commission has not completed primary investigations. However, leader of majority in the national assembly Aden Duale and his counterpart in the senate Prof. Kithure Kindiki have claimed Odinga was angry at Jubilee for refusing to use the Eurobond funds to finance projects initiated under the grand coalition government. But in a surprise turn of events, Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and his West Pokot counterpart Prof. John Lonyangapuo have accused Duale and Kindiki of engaging in diversionary tactics to block investigations into the Eurobond saga.
