Eastern Africa Grain Council signs a 400 million shillings Food trade deal

The Eastern Africa Grain Council has signed a 400 million shillings finance deal with British Government Funded Foodtrade East & Southern Africa Project. The money is targeting to upscale EAGC online grain trading system- G-Soko to reach wider coverage in the region, open more grain aggregation centers at farmer level, as well as connect more certified warehouses to the platform. This is the second tranche of funding to EAGC by the Foodtrade after pumping in 200 million shillings into the project in 2014.
