A study shows Jakaya Kikwete Adminstration embarked on a huge expansion of the education sector

That’s Uganda, but in neighbouring Tanzania it is just four days to election day and one of the key issues of the 2015 election has been education. A study by Twaweza East Africa has shown that the Jakaya Kikwete Adminstration embarked on a huge expansion of the eduaction sector spending an average of 18 per cent of the national budget on education. The government abolished school fees in public primary schools, leading to an increase in enrollment from primary school all the way to university education.
