The speaker of the Kenyan senate Ekwee Ethuro, and his counterpart in the East African Legislative Assembly, Dan Kidega, are blaming “Non-Tarrif barriers” such as tough immigration laws and politics for poor implementation of a common market. They say this has also slowed down the free movement of people and goods in the region.
