29th September, 2015
Hours after the ruling by the labor relations court that ordered teachers to suspend their strike for 90 days, the government ordered all public schools to reopen on 28th of September. In a statement to newsrooms education principle secretary Belio Kipsang said the schools will close on November 20th. The principle secretary also directed that no schools should levy any extra fees on parents in the pretext of covering costs associated with the pay dispute. Michelle Ngele reports.
