Security agencies and administration officials moved swiftly to implement the presidential directive to fight the manufacture and sale of second generation brews countrywide. From Kiambu to Nandi, bar raids, closures and arrests characterised the day as both businessmen and consumers of alcohol were caught unawares. Interior cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaissery has issued a stern warning to officers colluding with manufacturers of illicit brews.
