KNUT threatens to call for strike over the new basic education regulations

The Kenya National Union of Teachers is now warning parents to brace for a paralysis of learning when school reopen unless new basic education regulations are de-gazetted. KNUT insists that the regulations which give the education cabinet secretary powers over school heads is unconstitutional. But education cs Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi remains unshaken saying it may be a little too late for teachers unions opposed to the new measures.
