Still on security matters, lawmakers from Mandera County have dismissed interior cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaissery’s statement that it was bandits that ambushed the Mandera governor’s convoy. The mps claimed that the government was downplaying local intelligence reports of increased movement of Al Shabaab militants along the Kenya-Somalia border. The leaders also demanded the immediate transfer of Mandera county commissioner Alex Ole Nkoyo.
