Communications Authority of Kenya wants activist Okiya Omtatah’s case thrown out

The Communications Authority of Kenya wants the high court to throw out a case filed by human rights activist Okiya Omtatah on grounds that the issues raised have already been litigated and determined.
Through its laywer Wambua Kilonzo the authority further argued that the high court has no jurisdiction to overrule the orders and findings of the supreme court. Omtatah on his part, wanted his application first heard on grounds that the matter is of national importance and needs to be disposed of within the shortest time possible. It is his argument that after the supreme court verdict, migration from analogue to digital tv broadcasting should have been handled professionally in a manner that protects the public interest.
