The matatu owners association has called on all psv operators to lower transport fares following the reduction of fuel prices. They acknowledged that fare for most routes on long distance travel had already reduced by about 10-15 percent but insist much more needs to be done to reduce fare for travel within estates. The owners however say the drop in fares may not be significant because of operational costs on spare parts and garage services.
