African Union calls on ICC to conduct a self post-moterm
22nd December, 2014
The African Union wants the International Criminal Court to conduct a post-Morten of how it has handled African cases so far. Deputy chairperson of the African union commission Erastus Mwencha says that African nations are concerned with the courts engagement with African nations. The au has in the past accused the Hague based court of targeting African nations, a claim the ICC has refuted. All of the cases the international criminal court has looked into in its 12 year history have all been from Africa. Erastus was speaking at the launch of the second general assembly of the A.U’s economic, social and cultural council.
