The move to clear Kenyan counties of billions of shillings in inherited debt moved a step closer as the government begun the final process of compiling a National asset and debt registry for all the 47 counties. This comes as county governments struggle to clear over 30 billion shillings in debts inherited from the defunct local authorities that were rendered obsolete.
