12,500 public servants believed to be getting ministerial payrolls using fake names

The cabinet has directed the directorate of criminal investigations, the ethics and anti-corruption commission, and the banking anti-fraud unit to investigate officers in government and other institutions suspected to have colluded to siphon out funds through ministerial payrolls using fake names. This comes after revelations in the just concluded human resource audit showed some 12,500 public servants were unaccounted for.
