The National Assembly orders National Police Service Commission to postpone police training
23rd July, 2014
The National Assembly has ordered the national police service commission to postpone the date that ten thousand new police recruits are scheduled to report for training. The order follows days of complaints, demonstrations and criticism against the recruitment exercise, with claims of bribery and bias. Parliament wants to be given time to question the interior cabinet secretary Joseph ole Lenku and the police bosses over the exercise.
