Attorney General, Prof. Gidhu Muigai releases Anglo Leasing documents to Switzerland government

Invstigations into the protracted anglo leasing scandal may get a new lease of life after attorney general professor githu muigai handend over dozens of files to the swiss govenrmt.
The files, which were received by swiss ambassador jacques pitteloud will be used to deepen investigations into the mulit-billion shilling scandal. swiss authorities are expected to probe some companies in switzerland on illegal flow of money during the period between 1999 and 2004. businessman deepak kamani, his father chamanlal kamani and brother rashmi kamani had asked the court to stop the government from handing over any information to the swiss govenrment even though the ag says the two governemtns have been exchanging information on the case for seven years.the ag says 5 people could soon be prosecuted locally for the anglo leasing saga. the handover happended at the Ag’s offices in Nairobi.
