Where ugandan culture meets kenyan cuisine
5th July, 2014
The Kenyan stand at the ongoing Smithsonian folklife festival in Washington was a major attraction as the festival hit the homestretch. A day before the festival comes to a close, the Kenyan stand was a beehive of activity as Americans flocked the venue to sample Kenyan cuisine, music and dance. Most of the visitors admitted they wanted to experience a taste of the country they have heard so much about, given that barrack Obama’s father was a Kenyan. The two Kenyan ministries of culture and tourism have been keen on using the festival to try and roll back the effects of negative travel advisories by western countries.
