Reviving the textile industry in Kenya

The high cost of business in kenya’s textile industry is making the country unattractive to investors. this is according to, the chief executive of the export processing zones cyrile nabutola who reckons the country’s cost of power and labor is significantly higher than its neighbors
The situation is causing investor flight to countries that had lower cost of doing business.coupled by, the use of outdated machinery in the textile sector further worsens the situation, players in the industry now want farmers in the continent to embrace value addition so as to increase farmers’ earnings, but also provide jobs for the 11 million unemployed youth in the country. the origin africa project is a 2-day expo that seeks to raise awareness of africa as a place to do business and as a sourcing destination.
