WEWI to launch solar-powered laptops in the Kenyan market

10th March, 2014

Canadian technology firm Wewi has launched a solar-powered laptop in the Kenyan market, targeting the private sector and population living off grid. The firm which has presence in west and central Africa has identified this launch as its entry into east Africa and plans to dispatch over 2 million devices in the region in the next one year.Wewi technology has also revealed its intention to unveil a range of technology-based products at a non-specified period. Having outgrown their performance expectations of the laptop in West Africa, Wewi is optimistic about its reception in the region coming at a time when the government is hard at work ensuring every child joining primary school gets a laptop.
