With the world cross country championships taking a break this year to pave way for continental cross country championships, many elite athletes snubbed the 2014 edition of the national cross country championships cum trials for the Africa cross country championships held today at the Uhuru Gardens. World cross country junior champion Faith Chepngetich and all African games silver medalist Bedan Karoki emerged the new national champions after winning the 8km and 12km races respectively.
