Kenya Power reassures clients despite dropped water levels

24th January, 2014

While admitting that water levels were dropping at alarming levels due the harsh weather the ministry of energy says that it had put in mitigation measures to avoid black outs. according to the ministry, the supply of 140 megawatts from Olkaria i power plant by March would supplement the deficit from the hydro power. The Olkaria four power plant is also scheduled to be online by july adding a further 280 megawatts to the national grid. with cheaper power coming onto the grid the ministry expects the cost of power to drop by forty percent in next three years.
