Mining contract set to add over 960 megawatts of energy onto the national grid

The ministry of energy is set to sign a mining contract expected to add over 960 megawatts of energy onto the national grid. The contract with Chinese firm, fenxi minining industry group will be signed tomoroow at Mwingi town. Energy cabinet secretary Davis Chirchir says host communities will benefit from the project which involves two blocks of the mui coal basin. Law society of Kenya chairman Eric Mutua also urged investors from the county to participate in the project.
