Tanzania feels sidelined from EAC
24th October, 2013
Tanzania is yet to officially lodge a complaint with the east Africa community secretariat over claims that it is being sidelined by other member states. According to EAC secretary general Richard Sezibera, the community is not aware of any of such complaints.
Speaking at an eac academia and private sector partnership forum in nairobi, Sezibera said if any country had complaints, the upcoming council of minister meetings would be the appropriate platform to raise such issues. On monday, Tanzania through one of its minister accused Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda for contravening articles of the EAC treaty in sealing deals without consultation with Dar es salaam. Speaking at the same event, chairperson council of ministers in Shem Begeine noted there were attempts by some countries in the union to delay progress.
