News: Silvio Berlusconi in Malindi

Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who was last week jailed for four years for tax fraud has arrived in kenyas coast for holidays Berlusconi is said to be putting up at Malindis luxurious Lion-in-the-Sun hotel owned by fellow Italian billionaire, Flavio Briatore.Berlusconi’s sentence was later reduced to one year under an Italian law aimed at reducing prison overcrowding. Berlusconi’s conviction can however not be completed until he goes through two more rounds of appeal. Pundits say it is unlikely he will ever serve jail time. This is the second time he is visiting Kenya this year and as he enjoys the sandy beaches of Malindi however, Berlusconi faces another trial over charges that he paid for sex with an underage prostitute.
