Mothers in Nyeri county were taught on the importance of breastfeeding their babies exclusively for the recommended six months at a workshop at the outspan hospital in Nyeri. Over 40 participants including new mums gathered for the workshop where they were taught how to use breast pumps especially for the working mothers who find it difficult to exclusively breastfeed for the first six months. And although HIV positive mums are usually encouraged not to breastfeed, at this particular workshop they were taught on how they can go about it safely.
