What’s in a degree

Late last week, parliament passed an amendment barring those without university degrees from contesting in any election, raising the bar for aspirants seeking county and national assembly seats. However, President Kibaki has declined to assent to the bill giving a reprieve to more than eighty MPs and other aspirants who have not had a university education. A cross section of Kenyans feel that MPs and county representatives should be holders of university degrees, was the move well informed? KTN senior reporter Aaron Ochieng reports
