Atwoli backs Uhuru, says presidency needs experience

3rd December, 2021

COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli has today taken a swipe at politicians pitching for a youthful presidency, fortifying president Uhuru Kenyatta’s sentiments on the expertise required for the country’s top job. Speaking in Kisumu today, Atwoli pointed out the perks of having an experienced politician at the country’s helm drawing examples from the US electing Joe Biden as president at the age of 78. Presidential hopefuls including DP William Ruto and Musalia Mudavadi have been tailoring their campaigns towards the youth, seeking to edge out ODM chief Raila Odinga on the basis of his age.
